New Window Insert
For the last 15 years I have had a faux stained glass insert taped into the little window in the front door. It has been looking increasingly worn and tacky. I have never liked the idea of a window in the front door where people can easily look in and see me or my living room. Sometimes I am not dressed and sometimes I just don’t feel like answering the door.
Both the previous insert and today’s new insert were made by scraping wax crayons onto waxed paper, laying another piece of wax paper over it, and ironing through a terrycloth towel to melt the crayon bits and bond the layers together.
I finally broke down and made a new insert. This is the outside view of the old one:

It’s not perfect by any means, and I accidentally had the iron set to steam which caused the was paper to wrinkle just a bit. Even so, it is prettier than the previous insert. I am content with it. 🙂
