Sunday Scrubbing
Today, in a rush of domesticity, I decided to clean the oven.
Not a big deal in itself. Spray the cleaning stuff, close the door, let it set 2 hours, wipe it off. It wasn’t “quite” that easy, but still not horrendous. And every time I do it, I think “I need to do this more often so it doesn’t get so bad.” At least, that’s what I remember thinking the last time I did it, five or six years ago. Which was the first time I’d done it since I moved in 10 years ago.
Yes, yes, I know…. I’m a horrible person. I’m really not a proper housekeeper. I would love to live in a home where things are also clean and tidy. But I don’t. And I bet your home isn’t ready for a Better Homes & Gardens photo spread, either. Or the Good Housekeeping Seal of Approval. I vacuum the carpets and floors several times a week, though. And the toilet is cleaned every couple weeks or so.
And I take the trash out for trash collection day. 🙂
So, you won’t see me on an episode of Hoarders. Sorry.
