Now, I’m scared!
About a month ago I got a notice from Comcast, suggesting I get a newer modem in order to fully access the latest and best high speed Internet. So I follow the instructions and eventually I am informed that the new equipment is on its way.
This is my current Internet modem:
Smaller and lighter than a flip-flop, right. Cool.
So today, Mr. UPS brings me this package, marked to be 5 pounds:
Same flip-flop. What the hell???
No I haven’t opened the box yet. I am afraid to discover I may need to upgrade my computer and/or get some sort of wireless doo-hickey or something. I am going to start unpacking with the assumption there are instructions inside.
I confess: I am intimidated just by the size and weight. I was expecting something more keeping with the modem I already have. We shall see.

update:
this is the important part of what was in the box:
The rest of it was instructions, new coax cable, etc. This will require taking my world apart and disconnecting everything and reassembling all the new stuff back togather. And finding a different place for this giant modem, because it sure as hell won’t fit back into the hidey-hole where the current modem lives.
It’s bigger and better! 🙂 Feel free to contact us if you need help.
