Tragedy? What Tragedy?
This came up in a conversation over on Facebook:
“I don’t know what tragedy caused you to denounce all religion ….”
AAAaaarrrggghhh… Why do people seem to think people need some tragedy in order to wake up and walk away from superstition??
I could just as readily ask “What tragedy caused you to hide from reality and seek refuge in myths and make-believe?”
Not all of life’s changes require a tragedy. Sometimes people discover what they’ve been doing (or believing) just doesn’t work any more. So they give it up and walk away.
The tragedy would be to hold onto a sinking ship long after it’s hit the bottom of the sea.
