You’re Gay? No Eucharist for you!
This is absolutely INSANE. More Roman Catholic nonsense!
They come to church week after week. Every week, all year long, they are gay, lesbian, transgendered, or they are family, friends, and supporters of the GLBT community. But on Pentecost Sunday, if they wear the Rainbow Sash, they are denied communion. WTF?
I don’t know if this perverted Catholic Cancer exists throughout all Roman Catholic churches or dioceses, or just the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis, but it wrong on every level.
Rainbow Sash movement members, LGBT Catholics and friends, wear a rainbow sash each Pentecost to identify themselves as LGBT church members and supporters. If they are denied the Eucharist they go back to the pews and remain standing as acknowledgment of being denied. If they do receive the Eucharist, they kneel as they are expected to.
These people attend Mass regularly, and one has to assume the priest knows who is gay or lesbian, or who has gay/lesbian family members. It’s not a secret. But when they put on the Rainbow Sash, proclaiming to the world that they DO exist and they ARE equal, it becomes a “problem”.
They aren’t protesting, but seeking admission as equals.
The position of the church is that they cannot enter a dialog on the matter because church doctrine is not amenable to dialog. The only way to “dialog” is is there is no conflict.
With regard to the dialogue you request, it would first be essential that you state clearly that you hold with the conviction all that the Church teaches on matters of human sexuality. If you do not believe, then there cannot be dialogue, but only debate. The truths of our faith are not open to debate.
“Agree with us, or there will be no talks.”
The problem with this is that is says, loud and clear, “We (the Church) have already determined what is true and what is truth about your life. You cannot be allowed to educate us about who you are because we have already decided. We cannot be educated because we already have the truth we like and nothing more is needed in our convenient domination scheme.”
Why do Catholics continue to show up in a church where they are not welcome? The Roman Catholic teaching is patently wrong, without rational foundation, yet people flock to the pews anyway. WHY? What is the attraction to such a messed up, dysfunctional, dangerous teaching? We know for a fact that nobody was ever raised from the dead, we know for a fact that it’s JUST a cracker and wine and nothing more, we know that when you die you are just dead and that’s it. What is the attraction to live in the fantasy of the Roman Catholic Church?
