Okay, so Christians like to say that in order to get to heaven (or “get saved” as they call it) you have to “invite Jesus into your heart.”
Okay, so a happy and willing organ donor decides to invite Jesus into his heart. Woo-hoo… he’s saved. But in a tragic car accident, he loses his life, [...]

Let’s put it to the test….
(h/t Godless Blogger)
So, whattaya think? Does anyone REALLY want to pluck verses here and there like this? Yes, the Bible does say if a woman is not a virgin when she gets married, she should be taken out and stoned to death in the doorway of her father’s home, because [...]

This was left as a comment to a long-ago previous post;
I like long walks, especially when they are taken by people who annoy me.
YES!
———-
An awesome retort to be given in response to trash-talking, foul-mouthed conservative idiots (and cussing Christians)
“Did you learn that in church?” <*snark*>
———-
Why is it that those funda-gelicals who are soooooo convinced of [...]

American Family Association is really making a stink from stirring their own shit. As in years past, it is the Christians who pretend there is a war on Christmas, and they haven’t even let Thanksgiving be done before they start in on their annual tirade against reason and sanity.
They’ve had their “Naughty or Nice” list [...]

For the last year or so, the world has seen a growing fleet of atheist advertising: the bus ads, billboards, etc. There is not a single such ad that has been attacking or hateful. They’ve been positive affirmations that those who don’t believe in a god or gods are not alone, and are free to [...]

This report is highly upsetting: Rachel Maddow Interview with Former Evangelist Frank Schaeffer: Christian Right Is ‘Trolling for Assassins’
The whole article is sickening, of course, because it merely highlights how bad the Christians are becoming. But this one part is particularly bothersome because it hides a double-message:
Maddow: And then, there‘s this biblical quote making the [...]

I usually manage to hide the religious folks from visibility on my Facebook page. It saves me a lot of angst and grief. But somehow a person from whom I would not have expected this managed to post:
Let’s see how many people on FB aren’t ashamed to show their love for God and admit that [...]

Okay, so yesterday I mentioned that the dr.’s office called to tell me I had to have two MORE prescriptions.
I told her I was getting my other Rx at Kroger, and she said that’s good and she was going to call in the new Rx’s for me, so I gave her the Kroger pharmacy number. [...]

Over at Proud Atheists, a set of questions were posted regarding the increasing billboard and bus-ad campaigns. The original post address the ads from the Freedom from Religion Foundation, but these campaigns are not just from FFRF any more. They include ads from American Humanist Association, and many local chapters of the Coalition of Reason.
* [...]

ICK!
The doctor’s office called today with the results of last Friday’s lipid panel: HDL 33 / LDL 202, Triglycerides 342. The woman calling told me, “The doctor says you are at very high risk for a heart attack … ” and proceeding to rattle off two new prescriptions I’m supposed to start on right away. [...]

Several days ago I pointed out that the sign posted by humanists in Moscow, ID, had been defaced a 2nd time.
Well, now they’ve replaced it with an entirely NEW slogan:
let’s see how long it takes for Christians to have a problem with this one. Really, this is even LESS potentially offensive than the previous “Millions [...]

I just discovered FreeThoughtPedia! Full of interesting cool stuff, almost as good as Internet Infidels!
I would challenge Christians to go through the arguments at FreeThoughtPedia to see where they fail, especially the Theist Arguments.
And here’s yet another cool place: Early Christian Religion. I’d venture to guess there aren’t any Christians today who even remotely resemble [...]

I have no absolute proof that it was Christians, but there’s plenty of reason to suspect that it was.
Again, I ask, what is wrong with Christians that they have so much anger, hatred, and bitterness that they would deface someone else’s ad like this? Why are they so threatened by people who have a different [...]

Okay, last week we discussed the blatant defacing of the billboard in Idaho. And now the Cincinnati Coalition of Reason has had to move their sign. It says “Don’t believe in God? You are not alone.” But after just two days in place, it is being moved because the landowner (which leased sign space to [...]

So what’s the point?
According to the Pope, it’s okay to debate theology, but in the end their revelations are more true than any reason. This is bullshit, and dissolves any incentive to dig and debate points of theology. And that is what is wrong with ALL religion today — they do not allow questions, challenges, [...]

At least not if you are gay and in a committed relationship with your partner. In Rhode Island, your partner might not be allowed to make your funeral arrangements!
An opponent of same-sex marriage, Governor Carcieri has vetoed bill that would have added “domestic partners” to the list of people authorized by law to make funeral [...]

Isn’t it amazing just how insensitive and obtuse some Christians can be?
As mentioned previously, some Christians are going to have a Rally for Religious Freedom, supposedly to challenge the Hate Crimes legislation recently expanded to include sexual orientation, gender identity, and disability.
I just caught this video over at that linked website:
Throughout the video they are [...]

Sheesh!
If you watch the video attached to this story you can only shake your head and wonder what is wrong with these people. The judge ruled that sectarian prayers do not belong in the Forsyth County Commissioners meetings. So what do they do? Right after the ruling they have yet another Christian preacher issue the [...]

November 8 is the International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church.
Let me start off by saying, quite clearly and without any waffling: people being killed, denied jobs or housing, imprisoned, taken from their families, or otherwise abused simply because of what they believe, is WRONG! I don’t care who it is, I don’t care [...]
