Sore but moving
After walking home from Kroger on Sunday, pushing the weight of a big bag of groceries and the walker, I expected yesterday I would have been a little stiff and sore. Actually, I am more stiff and sore than I was yesterday. I will be standing up several hours today as I reskein all the BRS yarns and make reading for tomorrow’s shipping, so I won’t try to take a walk as well today.
Several days ago I suspected I might have some sort of allergy to Boomer, the neighborhood dog that gets skritches and a dog biscuit. I had given him some lovings the other day and quite shortly thereafter I developed an itch all around my hands and forearms. I’d had that before but never connected it to being around Boomer. Well, I hadn’t seen Boomer all day yesterday, but quite suddenly in the late afternoon I started the itching again. Apparently there is something else in my environment causing this.
I took a diphenhydramine pill and slathered on some lidocaine cream. I have some diphenhydramine cream, but the package says not to use that in combination with the pills, for obvious reasons. A few hours later I was already feeling relaxed and sleepy anyway from just the one pill. I put myself to bed just at 9:00 and slept straight through until a few minutes before 3:00 this morning. Six hours of sleep isn’t bad for me. I’d prefer more, but many nights I can only manage four or five hours straight through, and sometimes even less.
The weather person on the evening news says we are in for 7-10 of glorious weather. Still warm but more dry and not much chance of rain. This is a good thing, and should help encourage me to get out and walk more again.
I can’t think of anything else worth mentioning for now, so into the day I go.
