So, apparently hanging around the clinic most of the day on Tuesday enabled me to pick up a cold, which didn’t really hit until late yesterday afternoon. And now I feel crummy and nothing else matters. I took a couple cold symptom remedies late into the evening and managed to survive the night by sitting up and nodding off occasionally. I tried just lying down in bed and could not breathe normally at all, but sitting up was a little better. Plus a couple rinses with the Neti pot were helpful.
Took the morning finger-stick around 5:30 (122), dozed until 7:00 when I fed the boys, dozed again until after 8:00 when I took the morning insulin.
When I was still operating under the assumption I’d be flushing today for a colonoscopy tomorrow, I stocked up on broth and clear Jell-O™ and other liquids. Good thing I did.
I also realized last night that feeling icky with a cold I don’t feel up to knitting on anything, even the simple hat project I now have at hand. What the hell makes me think I’m going to feel like knitting when I’m laid out after major surgery? Fuck that! LOL. I’ll take 1 or 2 very small very simple things for ‘just in case’, but mostly I will be lying there waiting for the end to wash over me. Or something. I’ll take my phone and charger to post updates to Facebook and the blogs of course, but nothing major.
So, today is just a day for doing nothing that isn’t absolutely necessary.
