I just remembered (as I was undressing for bed) that I had asked the doctor to show me exactly where there would be work done, which part of the aorta will be replaced. I used a permanent marker so I wouldn’t forget where he touched. It is just below the sternum at the top, will go down the center a while, and eventually reach to the point indicated on the lower right, with a matching point over on the lower left. I’m not sure the actual incision(s) will be that long, but this indicates the approximate length of the aorta that will be replaced, and it will still create a noticeable scar, eh?

Squeamish? Tough. If I’m documenting all this health shit I’m dealing with, I’ll include pictures when appropriate. 🙂
