Three posts in one day?
When I got back from clinic just before noon, I took my pre-lunch insulin shot and then at the rest of a fried chicken breast and a carrot and a celery stalk.
Ooops… and I just realized this is only the second post of the day, not the third. When I woke this morning and did finger-stick, the reading was 117, which is pretty good. And just a few minutes ago I did the two-hours-after-lunch finger stick — 97!! Woo-hoo! That’s actually pretty low, so I nibbled a half cup of mixed nuts.
I will likely have another couple pieces from the fried chicken box, plus some mixed vegetables and sweet potato from the steamer.
One thing I noticed as I wandered around the big clinic downtown — I have significantly slowed down and move much more slowly than I have. I mused at how frail I feel, and how frail I probably seem to others. I do not like that. I can move fairly well at home, of course, but out and about walking with the cane for stability, I am definitely diminished in my gait, taking short strides as I go.
I would LOVE to buy a serious treadmill so that I could improve my walking. Such a gadget is out of reach, of course, but I’m concerned that if I start walking just to be walking, I might get too far and not be able to walk myself back home. I know, that’s crazy, right? But, I do need to do something. I’ll figure it out.
