Christmas Day!
Not a blessed thing worth noting was scheduled for today. Very noisy last night — apparently Hispanics observe the bulk of Christmas on Dec 24, preparing for gifts and so forth at midnight. Loud music and fireworks around the area. UGH! Earplugs worked so I could get to sleep after around 10:00. Around 2:00 I woke to potty and it felt like the noise had stopped, so I took the earplugs out. Soon as I snuggled back under the covers, a loud BAM sounded near my bedroom, probably the yard behind me. And I was wide awake for another hour and a half. But then I slept until 7:00-ish, got up and fed the boys, showered and shaved, and had a finger-stick of 140. Higher than I should have for a fasting morning blood-stick.
I’ve been knitting on the socks and dozing off and on through the day. My granddaughter was with the family at her Mimi’s house (her dad’s mom and grandparents), and messaged me to ask if I’d like a dinner plate. How sweet! I’ve not looked to see what’s under the foil (stuck it in the fridge until supper time). Let’s go see what there is.

There’s piece of ham under the carrot salad. Looks yummy, eh? And no cooking for me tonight! 🙂 Probably more carbs than I’m supposed to have at one time, so I’ll spread it out, and add more proteins in the mix.
The sock toes are done, and I’m about to add the stripe between toes and the body of the socks. And then it will be 78 more rows of <*yawn*> tedium before I reach the heels. Ideally, I’ll have the heels done before next week. I’ll have an early and short trip to the clinic on Monday, and then allllll day at the downtown clinic on Thursday, with a lot of waiting time in between two different procedures.
Generally, feeling good, not noticing much anti-Christmasy mood, which is nice. I’ve got my own shit going on these days, can’t be fussing with everyone else’s Christmas stuff. Onward into the evening for now.
