Another day, another number
A poor night’s sleep, but I finally quit trying and got myself up around 4:00 or so. My morning reading was 138, higher than I would have liked. And yes, I keep reminding myself “it’s just a number, a single data point in a long series to be calculated in a few months.” If I didn’t remind myself, I would freak out over numbers I don’t like.
Yesterday, my granddaughter Angel took me to Kroger. The store was crowded, and I was worn out by the time I got my groceries all checked out. I very well filled both of my reusable shopping bags, which were far too heavy for me to carry, but I had to left them up and over into the back of the truck, and then I lifted the heavier one back out when we got home. Thankfully, Josh (Angel’s partner) lifted the other one out and carried it in. Even so, it was a strain on my back and I felt it later, but the strain was all muscle and not pinched nerves or something.
Side note: it was a treat to see Angel, Josh, and all their kids — they’re growing so fast!
Anyway, I have more than enough groceries for the week (and beyond), and don’t have a clinic visit until Friday, so I can focus my time on work stuff for the next 3 days. And I will give some attention to stretching and exercising a bit.
