I am strongly opinionated about many issues:   marriage equality and civil rights in general, racism, sexism, ageism, the Republican War on Women, separation of church and state, the fundagelical war on science and history, our U.S. Constitution, infant genital mutilation, and a few others.

These are  things for which there are, and never will be, variance of legitimate opinion.  There are simply facts, and idiots who refuse to accept reality.  Certain opinions about these issues render me incapable of having a calm, civil, dispassionate conversation.

That is my own shortcoming, I suppose, but I am so very tired of Christian idiots spouting utter bullshit.

I really do admire people like Greta Christina, Matt Dillahunty, and so many others who don’t get emotionally involved.  I wish I knew how to detach from the arguments and keep my cool.  It is difficult for me to do that.

So until I can keep my cool like the ‘big folks’ do, I can’t be an adequate spokesperson for the issues that need to be discussed.    That is not to say I won’t discuss them.  I’m just saying I’m not going to be as polite or civil.
